Cape Town
After the start of democracy in South Africa and the resulting upswing in tourism, numerous new hotels, guest houses, B&B's and holiday apartments of all price ranges opened their doors in Cape Town. Despite the huge demand, all accommodation in the larger part of Cape Town is heavily booked in the tourist season - from early November to the end of April.
Therefore early booking is recommended.
In the winter months, from May to September, accommodation is easily found and only for some special places booking is necessary.
Accommodation in Camps Bay and Clifton costs more, but it is very beautiful in these parts of Cape Town and close to the city centre.
It is popular to stay on the Cape Peninsula. Especially Hout Bay which offers many beautiful and priceworthy holiday flats, hotels and guest houses.
If you want a view of Table Mountain, book accommodation in the Blouberg suburbs of Milnerton, Table View and Bloubergstrand. If you want to endure as little wind as possible, go to the Southern Suburbs and exclusive Constantia.
And finally one can warmly recommend the idyllic winelands with Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek and Somerset West.
Here, it is always warmer, rural and quieter.

Except for the honourable Mount Nelson Hotel in Gardens, most of the luxury hotels in Cape Town are to be found at the Waterfront.
But, even here there is a cheaper alternative namely the Breakwater Lodge. Less costly accommodation can be found in Green Point, Sea Point, as well as in the City Bowl, in Tamboerskloof, Oranjezicht or Gardens. Backpacker Lodges are peppered in and around Long Street and Green Point.
